NHL 98 – PS1 Game

NHL 98 is EA Sports’ hockey release for the PlayStation, carrying the NHL and NHLPA licenses for real teams, arenas and player names. You skate five-on-five with configurable rules for penalties, offsides and icing, and can play exhibition matches, work through a season, or go straight to the playoffs. Body checks, fights and power plays are part of the on-ice action, while menus give access to line settings, player ratings, trades and statistics. Multiplayer is supported for head-to-head games, and there are camera options for viewing the rink. Commentary and crowd noise back the play, and the game includes a shootout-style option outside the standard match. Difficulty settings and period length can be adjusted to suit either quick games or longer, more simulation-oriented sessions.
