Okami – PS2 Game

Okami is an action-adventure game in which you play as Amaterasu, a sun goddess who takes the form of a white wolf, restoring life to a land drained of colour by a returning evil. Alongside conventional exploration and combat, you use the Celestial Brush: the action pauses, the screen becomes a canvas, and you draw shapes to create effects. A slash cuts enemies and objects, a circle brings out the sun, a loop makes wind, and further techniques are learned as you progress. Combat takes place in enclosed arenas using divine instruments and brush attacks, while overworld areas hide puzzles and side tasks. The world is presented in a cel-shaded style modelled on Japanese ink and woodblock art, and the story draws heavily on Japanese myth and folklore.
