OutRun 2019 – Sega Genesis Game

OutRun 2019 is a high-speed driving game for the Sega Genesis with a futuristic presentation in place of the original OutRun’s open-top sports car. You race along a series of stages from a behind-the-car view, weaving through traffic and scenery at speed while a timer counts down toward the next checkpoint. Reaching a checkpoint extends the clock and lets you continue; running out ends the run. A boost lets you push well beyond normal top speed, at the cost of making oncoming traffic and roadside hazards far harder to react to. Handling is arcade-style rather than simulated, so success comes from memorising the layout of each stretch of road and picking clean lines through the gaps.
