OutRun – Sega Genesis Game

OutRun on Sega Genesis is a conversion of Sega’s arcade driving game. You drive a convertible sports car along coastal and countryside roads against a countdown timer, reaching each checkpoint to earn more time. At the end of most stages the road forks, letting you choose left or right and branch into different environments, so repeated runs can follow different paths to different endings. There is no rival racing in the traditional sense; the challenge comes from weaving through traffic at speed without spinning out. Before setting off you pick from a short selection of in-car music tracks. The game emphasises high speed, scenic backdrops and route variety rather than tuning, damage or a career structure.
