Panzer General – PS1 Game

Panzer General brings the turn-based hex wargame to the PlayStation. You command land, air and naval units across maps set in the Second World War, moving one side at a time over a hex grid and resolving attacks between adjacent or in-range units. Units have their own attack and defence values against different target types, along with fuel, ammunition and experience, so keeping supply lines open and pulling damaged formations back to refit matters as much as attacking. Terrain, weather and the difference between infantry, armour, artillery and air support all affect how engagements resolve. Scenarios have objectives to capture within a limited number of turns, and a campaign structure carries surviving units and their accumulated experience forward from one battle to the next. Play is menu- and map-driven, with an emphasis on planning rather than action.
