Parasite Eve – PS1 Game

A role-playing game with survival horror overtones, set in New York City. You play as Aya Brea, a young police officer who is caught up in an outbreak that begins at a Manhattan opera house and spreads through the city, driven by mutated cells and a figure called Eve. Exploration happens in third person through pre-rendered environments, while combat plays out in real time within an arena: you move freely as a gauge fills, then stop to aim and fire, use items or trigger special abilities. Weapons and armour can be swapped and customised by transferring parts and stats between them, and Aya gains levels and bonus points to spend on her attributes. The story unfolds across several in-game days with cutscenes and a mix of science-fiction and horror imagery.
