Pokemon Platinum is a Nintendo DS entry set in the Sinnoh region, revisiting the Diamond and Pearl story with changes to the plot, areas and available Pokemon. You choose Turtwig, Chimchar or Piplup, collect Gym Badges and confront Team Galactic, whose plans lead to the Distortion World, a puzzle area with altered gravity and geometry where Giratina is central. Battles are turn-based and use the physical and special move split, with the Nintendo DS screens showing the field and menus. Post-game content includes the Battle Frontier, a set of facilities with different battle rules and restrictions. Wi-Fi features cover trading and battling, plus the Wi-Fi Plaza for minigames with other players. The Underground and contest activities from the earlier Sinnoh games return.
