Portal Runner – PS2 Game

Portal Runner is a third-person action game for the PlayStation 2 that spins off from the Army Men series, putting you in control of Vikki Grimm. Play is built around exploration and combat across themed levels, with a bow as your signature weapon and a supply of different arrow types to use on enemies and obstacles. Levels move between varied settings as the story carries Vikki through portals to different worlds, mixing shooting with platforming and light puzzle-solving. You aim, dodge and pick off targets at range rather than relying on close-quarters fighting, and boss encounters break up the stages. The game trades the plastic-soldier battlefields of its parent series for a more fantastical adventure structure while keeping a similar cartoonish tone.
