POW Prisoners of War – NES Game

P.O.W.: Prisoners of War is a side-scrolling beat ’em up for the NES. You play a captured soldier who breaks out of an enemy prison camp and fights his way toward freedom, moving left to right through camps, trucks, warehouses and open ground. The core moveset is punches, kicks and jumping attacks, with a jab-and-grapple rhythm for dealing with enemies who crowd you from both sides. Defeated soldiers sometimes drop weapons such as knives and guns, which give you extra reach and power until you lose them by taking a hit. Other pickups restore health or grant temporary advantages. Each stage ends with a tougher opponent, and enemies keep arriving in waves, so positioning and knowing when to back off matter as much as attacking. One player.
