Primal Rage – Gameboy Game

A Game Boy version of the arcade fighting game Primal Rage, in which giant beasts battle for control of a devastated Earth. Fights are one-on-one contests between dinosaurs and huge apes, fought on scrolling arenas with tiny human worshippers gathered below. You attack, block and perform special moves drawn from each creature’s own move list, working through opponents in a single-player ladder or facing another player. The handheld conversion reworks the arcade’s digitised stop-motion creatures into monochrome sprites and simplifies the controls to suit two buttons, while keeping the roster of monsters and the basic rhythm of matches. A compact take on the monster fighting concept for players who want Primal Rage on the original Game Boy.
