Primal Rage – SNES Game

Primal Rage brings arcade monster fighting to the Super Nintendo. Instead of human brawlers, you control enormous beasts such as dinosaurs and giant apes, fighting for dominance over a wrecked Earth. Special attacks are entered by holding buttons and rolling the directional pad, and each creature has its own throws, ranged attacks and brutal finishers. Human worshippers occasionally stumble into the arena and can be eaten or crushed during a match. The characters were animated from stop-motion models, so the sprites have a weighty, claymation look, and the stages depict collapsed cities and primeval landscapes. The cartridge includes a single-player run through the roster in best-of-three round matches and a two-player versus mode, with the sprites and audio scaled down to fit the SNES hardware.
