Pump It Up

Pump It Up: Exceed brings the arcade dance series to PlayStation 2. Instead of the four-arrow layout used by some rhythm games, Pump It Up uses a five-panel design: four corner panels plus a centre panel. Steps scroll up the screen in time with the music and you hit the matching panels with your feet, with accuracy judged per step and combos rewarding sustained precision. Songs span a range of dance and pop styles, and individual charts are offered at multiple difficulty levels so the same track can be played casually or as a stamina test. The game can be played with a compatible dance mat or on a standard controller, and includes modes for practising and for playing through sets of songs in sequence.
