Q*bert – Gameboy Color Game

Q*bert brings the arcade cube-hopping puzzle game to the Game Boy Color. You control Q*bert, an orange character with a tube-shaped snout, as he jumps diagonally around a pyramid built from cubes drawn in isometric perspective. Landing on a cube changes its colour, and the stage ends once every cube has been converted. Enemies chase you around the pyramid or bounce down it, most notably the purple snake Coily, and a single touch costs a life. Flying discs sit at the edges of the pyramid and can be used to escape, luring Coily off the side. Falling off the structure also costs a life, so movement is deliberate despite the simple two-button control scheme. Later stages add more colour changes and faster hazards.
