Rad Racer – NES Game

Rad Racer is a behind-the-car racing game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. You drive a sports car along a series of point-to-point courses, steering between roadside obstacles and passing slower traffic while a countdown timer ticks away. Reaching a checkpoint before time runs out extends the clock and lets you continue to the next stretch of road; running out ends the run. Courses pass through varied scenery, from coastal highways to desert and night-time city driving, with hills and long curves that make the road dip and bend ahead of you. A selectable stereoscopic 3D mode renders the action in red-and-blue anaglyph for use with the appropriate glasses. Play is score- and time-focused rather than lap-based, with two cars to choose from and a soundtrack that plays throughout each stage.
