Rage Racer – PS1 Game

Rage Racer is an arcade-style racing game for the PlayStation and part of Namco’s Ridge Racer series. It keeps the series’ drift-heavy handling, where you lift off the throttle and turn to slide the car through long corners, but frames it around a career structure. You earn prize money from races and spend it on buying and upgrading cars, working up through classes as opponents get faster. Cars can be tuned, and you choose between transmission types to suit your driving style. Tracks wind through hilly industrial and coastal settings, with tunnels, elevation changes and multiple layouts and reversed variants. A rival car appears in each event to chase down late in the race. Presentation includes a licence-plate and team name you enter yourself, plus a soundtrack of electronic music.
