Rampart – Sega Genesis Game

Rampart brings Taito’s arcade hybrid of artillery shooting and puzzle building to the Genesis. Each round moves through three stages: you place cannons within your territory, aim and fire at approaching ships and land forces, then patch the damage by dropping and rotating Tetris-like wall pieces to seal a complete loop around at least one castle. Fail to enclose a castle in the time allowed and the game ends. Because the wall pieces come in fixed shapes, deciding which holes to plug and which ground to abandon is as important as accurate shooting. The Genesis release includes single-player play against the computer and competitive multiplayer, where rival players fire at each other’s structures and race to claim territory with their own walls.
