Red Zone – Sega Genesis Game

Red Zone is a military action game for the Sega Genesis. You take the role of a commando sent behind enemy lines to stop a hostile regime armed with nuclear weapons. Most missions are flown in an attack helicopter, viewed from above as you scroll across large maps, destroying installations, defending targets and clearing air and ground opposition with cannons and missiles. Other sections put you on foot, moving through enemy bases with a rifle and grenades. Objectives are briefed before each mission, and you manage limited fuel, ammunition and armour as you work through them. The game is known for pushing the Genesis hardware with rotation and scaling effects, digitised speech and a large amount of on-screen detail, along with a password system for continuing progress.
