Resident Evil – PS1 Game

Resident Evil is a survival horror game for the original PlayStation. You play as a member of a police special forces team trapped in a mansion outside Raccoon City after a mission goes wrong, choosing either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, each with their own supporting characters, item capacity and puzzle variations. Exploration takes place across pre-rendered backgrounds with fixed camera angles, using tank-style controls to move between rooms. Ammunition and healing items are limited, and saving requires ink ribbons at typewriters, so avoiding fights is often more practical than winning them. Much of the game involves solving key-and-emblem puzzles, mapping the mansion’s connected wings, and reading files that gradually explain the viral outbreak behind the zombies and other creatures inside.
