Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure is a role-playing game about Cornet, a girl who can talk to puppets and sets out after the prince she has fallen for. The story is told with light comedy and periodically breaks into fully voiced song numbers, an unusual feature for the genre. Battles are turn-based and fought on a grid, where you position Cornet, her companion Kururu and the puppets she recruits, moving them within range before attacking or using abilities. Puppets are gathered throughout the adventure and can be brought into fights as extra units. Exploration covers towns, dungeons and an overworld, with shops, equipment and item management handled in a conventional style. The difficulty and pacing are gentler than in many contemporaries, keeping the focus on the narrative.
