Ridge Racer V – PS2 Game

Ridge Racer V is Namco’s PlayStation 2 entry in the drift racing series. Its courses are set in a single interconnected city, with layouts that share tunnels, waterfronts and highway sections seen from different directions. Handling keeps the series’ arcade feel: you provoke a slide with the brake, then hold it through the corner while managing the throttle, rather than braking to a realistic racing line. Modes include a grand prix-style progression that unlocks additional cars and events, plus time attack, free running and duel-style races against rival drivers. Cars are fictional, split across teams and tuned toward either grip or drift. The game runs at a high frame rate with reflective road surfaces, and features a soundtrack of electronic and drum and bass tracks.
