Rise 2: Resurrection is a one-on-one fighting game built around pre-rendered CG robot fighters. Each combatant is a machine with its own silhouette, reach and attack set, from bulky armoured units to lighter, faster designs, and matches play out in industrial arenas rendered in the same metallic style. Fights follow the standard round-based structure, with directional and button combinations producing punches, kicks and special moves, and you work through a series of opponents in single-player or take on a second player head to head. The presentation leans on digitised metal surfaces, harsh lighting and a heavy soundtrack rather than hand-drawn sprite art. It follows on from Rise of the Robots and expands the roster of selectable machines.
