Roadkill – PS2 Game

Roadkill is a vehicular combat game for the PlayStation 2 set in a rundown, gang-controlled world. Rather than running fixed race tracks, you drive freely through connected city areas, taking on missions from the factions that hold each district and fighting rival drivers in the streets. Vehicles are fitted with mounted weapons, and much of the play involves shooting while steering, ramming opponents and escaping when a fight goes badly. Cars can be swapped out and upgraded as you progress, and destroying enemies and completing jobs opens up further work and new areas. Radio stations play while you drive, with in-fiction chatter between tracks. The overall structure mixes mission-based story progression with free-roaming exploration and combat rather than lap-based racing.
