Robotron X – PS1 Game

Robotron X is a rebuilt version of the classic arena shooter Robotron: 2084 for PlayStation. You are dropped into a single enclosed screen filled with hostile robots, shooting in one direction while moving in another, and each wave is cleared by destroying enemies and rescuing the surviving humans who wander helplessly across the field. Different robot types behave differently: some chase you directly, some fire back, and some try to convert or destroy the humans before you can reach them. The action is presented with 3D polygonal models and a techno-styled soundtrack rather than the original’s vector-like sprites, but the play remains the same relentless test of movement, aim and prioritising targets across an escalating series of waves.
