Rugby 2005 – PS2 Game

Rugby 2005 is EA Sports’ rugby union title for the PlayStation 2. You take charge of 15-a-side sides in licensed international and club competitions, playing out matches with scrums, lineouts, rucks, mauls, penalties and drop goals. Attacking play centres on passing along the line, offloads, sidesteps and picking the right moment to kick for territory, while defence involves holding your line, timing tackles and contesting possession after the breakdown. Goal kicking uses a meter for power and accuracy. Alongside single matches you can play tournaments, league campaigns and multi-season modes, and two players can compete on the same console. The presentation uses commentary, crowd atmosphere and replays, with team and player attributes affecting how sides perform on the pitch.
