Rugby World Cup 95 – Sega Genesis Game

Rugby World Cup 95 is a rugby union game for the Sega Genesis built around the international tournament format. You pick a national side and play through matches on your way to the final, or jump into single exhibition games. Play uses a top-down-style view of the pitch, with passing along the backline, running with the ball, kicking for territory and touch, and set pieces including scrums and lineouts. Defence comes down to positioning and timing tackles before the attacker breaks through. Conversions and penalty kicks are aimed and struck with the controller, and the ruleset covers knock-ons, forward passes and offsides. Two players can compete against each other, and the small sprite scale keeps the whole field and both teams’ shapes visible during phases of play.
