Rush 2 is an arcade-style racing game for the Nintendo 64 and a sequel in the San Francisco Rush series. It sets exaggerated versions of American city courses around wild elevation changes, huge jumps and shortcuts that send cars flying well above the road. Handling is deliberately loose and airborne, and part of the appeal is landing enormous leaps or crashing spectacularly when you do not. Tracks are dotted with hidden coins and secret routes that reward exploring rather than driving the fastest line. Alongside the standard races there are additional modes that focus on stunts and free-form driving, and multiplayer supports split-screen competition. Vehicles can be tuned before a race, adjusting handling to suit the courses’ many ramps and drops.
