Savage Skies – PS2 Game

Savage Skies is an aerial combat game for the PlayStation 2 with a fantasy setting. Instead of aircraft, you fly a winged creature, banking and diving through open skies while attacking rival fliers with claws, breath attacks and other creature abilities. Combat focuses on manoeuvring behind an opponent and keeping them in range while avoiding the same treatment yourself, with the third-person camera trailing your mount. Progress takes you through a series of missions and battles set over varied landscapes, and defeating enemies opens the way to further encounters. Multiplayer duels let two players fight in the same airspace. The mix of dragon-riding fantasy and dogfight-style controls sets it apart from the aircraft-based flight games more common on the system, and the pace stays action-oriented rather than technical.
