Shadowgate 64 – Nintendo 64 Game

Shadowgate 64 is a first-person adventure for the Nintendo 64, continuing the fantasy series that began with the earlier Shadowgate. You explore the castle and its surrounding halls, towers and passages from a first-person viewpoint, moving room to room and examining everything you find. Progress comes from solving puzzles rather than fighting: you gather items, read inscriptions and journals for clues, and work out how objects and mechanisms fit together. Light is a resource, so torches need to be found and kept burning as you move deeper underground. Careless choices can be fatal, and death is a regular part of learning the castle’s layout and traps. The presentation uses 3D environments with static, deliberate exploration, an inventory screen, and text descriptions that fill in the story as you piece together what happened at Shadowgate.
