An FMV detective game for the Sega CD in which you take on the role of Sherlock Holmes and work through a set of criminal cases in Victorian London. Rather than action, the focus is on investigation: you read newspapers, consult a directory of contacts and locations, and travel around the city to interview witnesses and suspects, whose statements play back as live-action video with costumed actors. Clues gathered in one interview open up new people worth visiting, and you decide when you have heard enough. Each case closes with a courtroom quiz that asks you to name the culprit and explain the details of the crime, then compares your reasoning against how Holmes himself solved it. Play is unhurried and reading-heavy, driven by menus and video segments.
