Shining Force Neo – PS2 Game

An action role-playing game in the Shining series for PlayStation 2. Rather than the turn-based tactical battles of the earlier Shining Force games, combat here plays out in real time from an overhead view: you control a single character directly, hacking through groups of enemies with weapons and magic while allies fight alongside you. Progress runs through dungeon and field areas linked by a town hub, where you spend money and materials on equipment upgrades and prepare for the next region. Defeated enemies drop loot, and gear can be improved as you go, giving the game a steady loop of clearing areas and strengthening your character. The story is told through cutscenes between stages, following a young swordsman drawn into a wider conflict.
