Silpheed Lost Planet – PS2 Game

Silpheed: The Lost Planet is a space shooter for the PlayStation 2 that continues the series’ approach of flying a fighter craft across pre-rendered 3D backgrounds viewed from a pulled-back angle. Enemy squadrons, capital ships and installations fill the screen while you weave through fire and return it. Before each mission you select from a range of weapons for your craft, including forward guns, spread and homing options, so loadout choices shape how you handle particular enemy formations. Missions are relatively short and are framed by radio chatter and cinematic sequences that carry the story between battles. Your ship takes damage to its shields rather than dying to a single hit, and larger enemy vessels serve as set-piece targets with specific weak points and attack patterns to work around.
