Smuggler’s Run puts you behind the wheel of off-road vehicles running contraband across large open landscapes on the GameCube. Missions typically involve collecting cargo from drop points and delivering it to a destination while border patrols, rival smuggling crews and helicopters chase you down. Rather than following roads, you cut across open desert, forest and snow terrain, using hills, ravines and jumps to break line of sight and shake pursuers. A range of vehicles, from nimble buggies to heavier trucks, differ in speed, durability and cargo capacity. Alongside the mission campaign, the game includes standalone modes such as timed checkpoint runs and capture-style multiplayer matches for two players in split screen. Presentation is built around wide draw distances and physics-driven jumps and landings across the terrain.
