Sol-Deace – Sega Genesis Game

Sol-Deace is a horizontally scrolling shooter for the Sega Genesis. You pilot a starship through side-scrolling stages against mechanical enemies, ground installations and large bosses. The ship’s distinguishing feature is a pair of auxiliary cannons that can be rotated to fire forward, upward, downward or backward, letting you cover angles that a single forward gun cannot reach. Weapons can be upgraded through power-ups collected in the levels, and the main shot has multiple types to switch between depending on the situation. Stage layouts mix open space with tighter corridors where positioning the side cannons matters. Between missions, text sequences carry the story along. It is a single-player game played with the standard Genesis controller, and the difficulty follows the conventions of early-1990s console shooters.
