Sonic Boom

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is a side-scrolling platformer for Nintendo 3DS based on the Sonic Boom incarnation of the characters. You switch between playable members of the group, each with an ability suited to particular obstacles, and swap between fire and ice states to melt, freeze and alter parts of the environment as you run through stages. Levels mix speed sections with platforming and light puzzle solving that requires using the right character and element at the right moment. Between stages there are additional challenges, including racing and vehicle-based sections. Collectibles and upgrades gathered in levels can be spent on improvements, and stages can be replayed to reach areas that need abilities acquired later.
