Sonic Spinball is a pinball game for the Sega Genesis in which Sonic himself acts as the ball. Each stage is a large multi-level table built inside Dr. Robotnik’s fortress, with flippers, bumpers, ramps and chutes, but you also retain direct control of Sonic to jump and steer between shots. The aim in each table is to locate and release the Chaos Emeralds hidden throughout the machinery, which opens the way to a boss encounter with one of Robotnik’s creations. Draining down the bottom of the table costs a life, and toxic pools and crushers add further hazards. Bonus rounds between stages award points, and a multiplayer option lets players take turns competing for the highest score.
