Space Harrier – Sega 32X Game

Space Harrier on the Sega 32X is a conversion of Sega’s arcade rail shooter. You control a jetpack-equipped harrier who runs and flies into the screen through surreal, brightly coloured landscapes, dodging obstacles and firing at waves of enemies that include mechanical foes, stone pillars and dragons. Movement is limited to steering across the screen while the world rushes toward you, so play is about reading enemy patterns and threading gaps at speed. Each stage ends with a boss encounter before the action continues into a new setting. The 32X hardware gives the game more processing power for the sprite-scaling effect that defines the original arcade version, keeping the sense of constant forward motion at a steady pace.
