An arcade-style racing game for the Dreamcast. Races are run on circuits with jumps, shortcuts and hazards, and the handling is loose and drift-friendly rather than simulation-focused. A distinguishing element is the wagering system: before a race you can place bets and take on side challenges, with winnings going toward buying and upgrading cars as you work through a season of events. Tracks include changing weather and environmental obstacles that interfere with the racing line. The game supports multiplayer on a single console via split screen, and it was one of the Dreamcast titles built around the system’s online service for racing against other players over a network, along with associated online features. Presentation is bright and exaggerated, with heavy traffic, stunts and big air over jumps.
