Speedball 2 – Sega Genesis Game

Speedball 2 on the Sega Genesis is a futuristic sports game played on an enclosed metal arena. Two teams contest a steel ball, and you score by hurling it into the opposing goal or by hitting the targets, bumpers and score multipliers built into the pitch walls. Body-checking opponents is entirely legal, and knocking a rival player out of the game earns points of its own, with injured players stretchered off. You control whichever team member is nearest the ball, passing and tackling as play flows quickly from end to end. Between matches you spend earned credits on player attributes and team upgrades before facing the next opponent in the league. Two players can compete head to head, which is where the game’s shoving and scrapping shows best.
