Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy – PS2 Game

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is a third-person action-adventure for the PlayStation 2 built around Egyptian mythology. Play alternates between two characters. As Sphinx you explore towns, temples and desert regions, fight enemies, gather items and collect magical artefacts while working through the main quest. As the Mummy, a cursed former prince, you have no combat ability and cannot be killed, so those sections turn into stealth and puzzle challenges where you sneak past guards, distract them and use the environment and your own peculiar abilities to get through palace interiors. The two storylines intertwine, with progress by one character opening the way for the other. Exploration, item collecting and light platforming fill out the world, and the art style leans toward stylised cartoon rather than realism.
