Spot Goes to Hollywood is a Sega Genesis platformer featuring Spot, the red-dot character used as the 7 Up mascot. It uses an isometric, three-quarter viewpoint rather than a flat side-scrolling one, so you guide Spot along diagonal paths, judging depth carefully when hopping between platforms and over gaps. The stages are themed around movie-set settings, each with its own hazards, enemies, and obstacles to work past. Play centres on running, jumping, and collecting items scattered through each level while avoiding traps and falls, with progress gated on gathering what a stage requires or reaching its exit. Visually it leans on bright colours and cartoon animation. The game also appeared on other platforms of the era; this is the Genesis cartridge release, running on Sega’s 16-bit hardware.
