Spot Goes to Hollywood is a platformer for the Sega Saturn starring Spot, the red-dot mascot linked to 7 Up. Levels are viewed from an isometric, three-quarter angle, so you move Spot along diagonals and have to read depth and shadows when lining up jumps between platforms. The premise puts Spot on a film lot, and stages are dressed as movie sets, each with its own enemies, traps, and environmental hazards. You run, jump, and gather collectibles as you look for the way onward, with falls and obstacles providing much of the difficulty. Presentation is colourful and cartoon-styled, with animated sequences framing the Hollywood theme. The game was released on several systems of the period; this version runs on Saturn hardware from disc.
