Star Fighter – PS1 Game

Star Fighter is a 3D flight combat game for PlayStation 1. You pilot a craft over polygonal terrain, flying mission-based sorties against ground installations and enemy aircraft. Objectives typically involve destroying specified targets, defending friendly positions and surviving to reach an extraction point, with mission briefings setting out what needs to be hit before you launch. Your ship can climb, dive and hover-turn over the landscape rather than being locked to a fixed rail, so navigating between targets and lining up attack runs is part of the challenge. Weapons include forward-firing guns and missiles, and terrain features and enemy fire both threaten a low-flying pilot. Completed objectives open the way to further missions across a campaign of increasingly demanding operations.
