Steel Battalion – Xbox Game

Steel Battalion is a mech simulation for the original Xbox designed to be played with its own dedicated controller unit. Rather than a standard pad, the game uses a large control panel with two joysticks, a bank of labelled switches and buttons, and a set of foot pedals for movement and braking. Starting your machine requires running through an ignition sequence, and piloting involves managing throttle, weapons, targeting systems and damage separately. Missions place your walking tank, called a Vertical Tank, into ground combat against enemy machines and infantry across a campaign. The cockpit view emphasizes instrumentation and limited visibility. A dedicated eject button sits under a safety cover; if your machine is destroyed and you do not eject in time, the game deletes your saved pilot data.
