Streets of Rage 2 is a side-scrolling beat ’em up for the Sega Genesis and a direct sequel to the first game. Mr. X has returned and abducted Adam, so Axel and Blaze set out again, joined by Adam’s younger brother Skate and the wrestler Max. The four fighters differ sharply in speed, reach and strength. Each has a personal special move that trades a small amount of health to break up a crowd, replacing the police backup of the original. You fight through city streets, an amusement park, a ship and other stages, using weapons and environmental hazards along the way. Two players can play cooperatively, and the game includes a duel mode. The soundtrack mixes dance and club styles with the action.
