Sydney 2000 – Sega Dreamcast Game

Sydney 2000 is an officially licensed Summer Olympics game covering a range of track and field, swimming, weightlifting and shooting events. Each discipline is a short contest with its own control method, from rapid button tapping to build sprint speed, to timing a jump or release, to steadying an aim before firing. You choose a nation and athlete and can play events individually, practise them, or work through competition modes that chain several together in pursuit of medals. Multiple players can take turns competing against one another. The Dreamcast version presents the events with stadium crowds, national flags and medal ceremonies in the style of a television broadcast. The emphasis throughout is on quick, arcade-style athletic challenges rather than deep simulation or career management.
