Tak: The Great Juju Challenge builds its story around a contest of shaman trials, with Tak entering alongside his teammate Lok. Gameplay centers on switching between the two characters, each with different abilities, to clear obstacles and puzzles that require both of them. Stages combine platforming, combat against creatures and challenge sequences tied to the competition, and a second player can join in so each controls one character. Juju magic returns as the source of Tak’s special powers, used for attacks and for interacting with the environment. The presentation keeps the series’ cartoon art style and comedic tone. This GameCube version offers the same character-swapping structure as the other console releases, playable alone or cooperatively.
