Taz-Mania – Sega Genesis Game

Taz-Mania for the Genesis is a side-scrolling platformer based on the Warner Bros. cartoon series. You control the Tasmanian Devil as he searches Tasmania for a legendary giant seabird egg, travelling through desert, cave, jungle and industrial areas along the way. Taz runs, jumps and uses his signature spin, which lets him tear through enemies and certain obstacles, and he can eat items scattered through the levels, some helpful and some not. Stages feature moving platforms, environmental hazards and enemies pulled from the show, and a few sections change up the perspective or pacing rather than sticking to pure left-to-right movement. Cartoon-style animation and sound effects carry the presentation, and characters from the series turn up as opponents. The gameplay centres on momentum, timing and Taz’s destructive spin attack.
