The Humans – Sega Genesis Game

The Humans is a side-scrolling puzzle game where you control a tribe of cavemen rather than a single hero. Every stage sets an objective, typically getting the tribe to an exit or retrieving an object, and you cycle between individual humans to work out the solution. Alone they can only walk, jump and climb, so you build human ladders, throw tools between characters, and use items such as spears and ropes to cross gaps and deal with threats. Dinosaurs, pits and rival tribes can kill your cavemen, and you need a minimum number alive to finish, which encourages careful sequencing and restarts. The Genesis release plays the same puzzle-solving loop with a password system for returning to later stages.
