The New Tetris – Nintendo 64 Game

The New Tetris is a Nintendo 64 take on the falling-block puzzle game. The core rules are familiar: tetromino pieces drop into the well, you rotate and slide them to complete horizontal lines, and the speed climbs as you play. The main addition is square building, where fitting four blocks together into a clean 4×4 area creates a silver or gold square that pays out extra lines when cleared, which encourages careful placement rather than simply clearing rows as fast as possible. Cleared lines feed into a progression system built around constructing world monuments, giving solo play a long-term goal. The game also supports multiplayer on a single console, with players competing side by side, and includes music and visual themes tied to its monument concept.
