The Ninja – Sega Master System Game

The Ninja is an overhead action game for the Sega Master System in which you guide a ninja through scrolling outdoor stages filled with enemy warriors. You move in eight directions and throw shuriken at guards who approach from all sides, while enemy projectiles force constant repositioning. Much of the play involves reading the terrain: walls, trees and rock formations funnel your movement and provide cover, and hidden items can be uncovered by moving over certain tiles. Power-ups improve your throwing weapons, and stages end with a confrontation before you continue deeper toward your goal of rescuing a captured princess. A single hit ends a life, so the game rewards careful pacing and memorising enemy approaches rather than rushing forward.
